Explore this serviceAll prices are in Canadian dollars, plus HST. Use these figures as a starting point for your budget rather than a firm quote or price ceiling. Your final estimate reflects the condition of the existing installation, ease of access, selected products, required notifications or inspections, and the extent of the work. Tell us about your project for a complimentary quote, with no commitment required. Lower per-item prices may apply when several items are completed during one visit; standalone visits may be subject to a minimum service charge. Final pricing depends on access, existing wiring, equipment and project scope. Your written estimate will identify materials, labour, ESA notifications, utility charges and any exclusions. After-hours and emergency calls carry premium rates confirmed when booking.
What goes into your electrical quote?
Two projects that sound similar can involve different amounts of work. We review the installation and your selections to explain what shapes your price.
- Labour, materials and equipment: Installation time, wiring, devices, fixtures, access equipment, and any programming or setup needed for your project.
- Access and installation complexity: Cable routes, finished walls, ceiling height and mounting requirements affect how the work can be completed.
- Existing electrical capacity: We assess whether the installation can support your plans and identify any new circuits, panel work or service upgrades needed.
- ESA and utility coordination: Your proposal identifies applicable ESA notification and inspection arrangements, utility involvement and whether associated charges are included or separate.
- Inclusions and responsibilities: We clarify what Electric FX supplies, what you supply, and whether related work such as patching, painting, excavation or restoration is included.
Replacing a fixture or adding a new location?
A replacement may use suitable existing wiring and support. A new location can require a cable route, electrical box, switching and openings in finished surfaces. Fixture weight and ceiling access can also change the work involved.
Renovation wiring or a new home?
A renovation may involve tracing existing circuits and routing cables through finished areas. New construction usually offers more access before walls close, but the home’s size, circuit count, lighting design and specialty systems determine the overall scope.
